Severe Toothache:
- Rinse your mouth with warm water
- Use dental floss to remove any food debris
- Apply a cold compress to the outside of your cheek
- Call our office immediately
Knocked-Out Tooth:
- Handle the tooth by the crown, not the root
- Gently rinse with water if dirty (don’t scrub)
- Try to place it back in the socket if possible
- If not, keep it in milk or saliva
- See us within 30 minutes for best chance of saving the tooth
Broken or Chipped Tooth:
- Save any pieces you can find
- Rinse your mouth with warm water
- Apply cold compress to reduce swelling
- Contact our dental office immediately
Lost Filling or Crown:
- Keep the area clean
- Use temporary dental cement if available
- Avoid chewing on that side
- Schedule an appointment as soon as possible
